In the Oil and Gas business, workers are constantly moving from one location to another as requirements arise. They often keep in touch with each other via 2-way radios.
Conoco Phillips found that keeping track of their radios was becoming an expensive proposition. They were continually losing radios or finding that a radio wasn’t working when they needed it. So field management turned to CheckMate Toolroom to track their radios.
The Conoco Phillips system consists of CheckMate Toolroom software with the Maintenance Scheduler module, a Honeywell 6100 mobile barcode terminal, and a Zebra GK420T thermal transfer printer with rugged polyester labels. DSI added some fields to the software so that Conoco Phillips could track many details regarding the radios, including model number, serial number, description and location.
Now they can locate each radio and know when it was last maintained, saving the company considerable time and money.
