One of the key missions for Quiring Monuments, who manufactures custom headstones, is to provide excellent customer service. The fact that they couldn’t locate a job when their customer called for an update was not acceptable. And they were spending over 40 man hours a week tracking down the work orders to get answers.
To solve this problem, Quiring turned to the CheckMate system. Now every work order has a barcode identifier. The barcode is scanned as the job moves to each location in the production line. Their database gives production management up to the minute details of each job, and the status is always available when a customer inquires.
The system has saved Quiring over $60,000 per year in labor hours since it was installed. And they say one of the greatest benefits has been the increased morale of the workers who now know exactly what is happening with each job, allowing them to do their best work.
