General Electric Aircraft Engines uses a variety of costly tools to manufacture the engines that are used by military and commercial jets. A tool can cost many thousands of dollars, so if it is lost or damaged the results are expensive for GE. A tool that is not regulary maintained can cause a work stoppage resulting in delays for their customers.
CheckMate Toolroom was modified specifically for GE. For example, Toolroom keeps track of usage per individual tool and reports “# of uses completed and # of uses available” for each tool. This avoids having to swap out or sharpen that tool in the middle of a job. What this means is they always have a good tool to use for their job, eliminating that bottleneck and saving time and money.
