About Montana FWP

The State of Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks division is charged with managing Montana’s world-renowned state parks including all wild life, fish, and park visitors. In particular, the division is known for encouraging the stewardship of  Montana’s natural and recreational resources.

Wildlife tracking equipment

Montana FWP needed to keep track of the expensive monitoring equipment they place in the parks and recreation areas to track wildlife. Such equipment is left beside streams, in trees, fields and hillsides to track wildlife patterns throughout the year.  This meant that any label they used would have to adhere through four seasons of harsh snow, heat, rain, dust UV rays from the sun.

Dynamic System provided custom-made polypropylene labels and a Zebra thermal printer specificaly engineered to work under extreme conditions. MFWP was also provided the Honeywell 7600 mobile terminal because it met their specs for ruggedness and had a car charger for battery charging in the field. (Not to mention they could use the imager on the device to capture photographs).

The system has been up and running for 3 years successfully helping Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks improve the population of their “WildThings”.
